The Salvation Army is offering a Service Extension and Emergency Disaster Services Summit at Camp Mihaska in Bourbon, MO on April 20-21. There is no cost for this event, only your gas to get there. Housing and meals will be provided.
Volunteers will be offered a variety of workshops. Those attending Emergency Disaster Service workshops will receive certification for the coursed they complete.
-New Disaster Workers Course provides an overview of The Salvation Army's mission and it role within disaster work and how to prepare for disaster deployment.
- Mass Feeding Course prepares participants to serve on a Salvation Army's mobile kitchen and introduces them to the essentials of safe and sanitary food preparation. This course incorporates ServSafe food safety (anyone wishing to take the food safety class must take the emergency disaster class first)
-Social Workers Course teaches participants how to serve as a disaster caseworker during a disaster relief operation. Learn practical skills such as interviewing clients, filing forms and determining eligibility based upon The Salvation Army standards.
- Safe From Harm Class is a comprehensive program complete with model guideline, designated to assist The Salvation Army in their efforts to implement the National Polity on abuse of children and vulnerable adults.

GT Performance Gymnastics, Dance & Cheer is opening its doors to the community in celebration of National Dance Week April 20-29th.
Activities include master classed with Emily Turay, professional dancer with the Sesame Street Live Touring Company, unlimited cheer, gymnastics and dance classes, a hip-hop dance clinic class and a Angelina Ballerina Story Time Tea Party. All activities are open to the public and free of charge, but reservations for some events will be required.

Resources 4 Autism is a non-profit organization that will use resources and funds to create a community based program to help families in need of health, therapy, contacts, and resources for individuals with autism. Dedicated to helping children help themselves in improving their mind, body and spirit.
